On April 16, 2019, the intermunicipal Valley Creek Restoration Partnership (VCRP) received one of the 2019 Governor’s Awards for Environmental Excellence. The award was presented by PA DEP Secretary Patrick McDonnell at a ceremony for recipients held in Harrisburg. Since its establishment over 17 years ago, the Partnership has stewarded, executed, and help secure funding for over 23 projects totaling $3.3 million in Tredyffrin and East Whiteland Townships for the restoration of the Valley Creek Watershed, designated an Exceptional Value stream. Accepting the award on behalf of the Partnership were Owen Owens and Carol Armstrong.
